Born in St. Louis, MO, her passion for music was cultivated at an early age. Having a father who is also a singer, Anise started formally training as a vocalist at the age of 8 and arranging vocals by age 10. She spent years singing in choirs and talent shows but found a new direction for her calling when she visited New York City for the first time.
In 1998, Anise came to New York City and fell in love with the city. With her dream still unrealized and unfulfilled, she vowed that it was time to make a new life for herself, and that New York was the place to make that happen. In 1999, after the untimely death of one of her best friends, Anise’s inspiration and motivation crystallized and she decided it was the right time to make her dream of singing a reality. With mind made up, Anise purchased a one-way ticket to New York and hasn’t looked back.
Anise has blessed the mike at several New York City venues, including Ashford and Simpson’s Sugar Bar, BB King’s, CBGB’s, Joe’s Pub, Crash Mansion, The Bitter End, SOB’s and Village Underground just to name a few. Anise’s music has been played on various radio stations in NY, including 91.5 FM on the Barry Mason Show, Thermal Soundwaves with C-Truth Power 105’s “Mix Show with DJ Kut”. Anise has toured the US and Europe playing for the likes of Clive Davis, Donald Trump, Diana Ross, Michael Douglas and countless other celebrities..
Her songs have charted on the Solarradio, Sweet Rhythms Chart, reached #3 on Starpoint Radio’s JL Vibes Chart, and has also been featured on BBC Radio with Paul Miller.
